FAQ's
What is Round Up?
• If opted into Round Up, the system will automatically round up debit card purchases to the next whole dollar and deposit the funds into a related savings account.
• The purchase price of item purchased is rounded up to the nearest dollar amount. The difference between the purchase price and rounded up dollar amount is transferred from the individual’s checking account to a savings account.
Will the round up occur if I am negative?
• No. An available calculation is done to determine if there are available funds for both the transaction plus the round up. If there are not enough funds the Round Up amount is taken out of the calculation, and the transaction amount only will process as it does today.
Is there a fee assessed on the Round Up transaction if they're negative?
• If the “from” account is negative the Round Up transfer will not occur. If the “to” account is negative then Round Up transfer will occur.
Is there any point where the Round Up transaction may go into Courtesy Pay?
• No - If there are not enough funds to cover both the requested transaction amount plus the calculated Round Up amount, the Round Up transfer will not occur, but the requested transaction will continue to process as normal which could include courtesy pay, overdraft protection, etc...
Does the Round Up transaction happen at the time of the settlement of the transaction, or does it occur at the authorization?
• Round Up is included in the authorization and a debit hold will be placed on the total amount of the pre-authorization amount plus the calculated round up. The actual transfer will only occur at the time of the settlement.
